Looks:
For in-studio acting or executive headshot shoots, a look is a single change of wardrobe and/or a single change of hair/makeup. We don't shoot multiple outfits for each look. For lifestyle, executive, corporate and branding shoots on location, looks don't apply as we do not bid these based on "looks."
Corporate and Executive Branding Philosophy.:
I believe in using compelling visual storytelling as a way of helping clients build brand awareness with specificity. I believe in the value of perception, so my studio imagery uses next-level lighting and detail, to create high-end images that enhance our client’s images. I am a strong advocate for using location and environment to tell a richer and more compelling story for each client.
Acting Headshot Philosophy:
Portraiture, not caricature. Look like working actors, not an actor desperately seeking work. My most beautiful photographs come from adhering to this philosophy. For new talent, I don’t want you to look like new talent. I want you to look like talent. Shoot for your long game.
My Studio:
I have a beautiful live/work studio with both natural and studio lighting. This gives you the benefit of both worlds. It is fully air-conditioned and heated. I use the studio for portrait shoots and love to shoot on location for editorial and lifestyle jobs.
Copyright and Image Release:
Images may be used for all self promotion, personal websites and personal social media. Use of images by third party productions, promotions, publications, press announcements, films, videos, print, music, products, advertisements, news media, or any commercial use requires a signed release agreement by Kenneth Dolin Photography. For executive clients, images are released for usage other then resale of the images.
Deposits for Studio Sessions:
A $250 deposit is required to book a headshot session in my studio.
Deposits for Lifestyle, Team Shoots, Location Branding or Exec Shoots:
Deposits are normally 50% of the total shoot fee, but depending on the nature of the shoot, the location, and the number of people, a deposit amount will be included in your bid.
Non-Refundable Deposit Policy:
Cancellations are extremely difficult for our schedules. Therefore, there's a 3 business day rescheduling policy. Business days are Monday through Friday. If you’re an acting client, that means booking yourself out with your agents, managers, or anything else that may potentially conflict with your shoot. Rescheduling with 3-business days notice is allowed once, a second reschedule will result in the loss of your deposit. Reschedule requests with less than 3 business days notice, or cancellations, will result in the loss of your deposit.
Hair and Makeup:
I strongly recommend that my female clients have hair/makeup. Our makeup artists work for you, so direct them. I will never shoot a without your review and approval. For male clients, makeup is not always necessary.
Can I Do My Own Makeup?
YES. You are welcome to do your own hair and makeup. Some clients know what works and have the skills to rock it. If you choose to do your own hair/makeup, I can not be responsible for how the products you use look on camera, how the hair/makeup looks, or how the hair maintains it’s style during the shoot. You are also welcome to supply your own hair and makeup artist with my approval.
Can I Bring My Own Makeup Artist?
YES. If you prefer to use a makeup artist outside of my studio, you must come to the shoot hair and makeup ready. Your artist is welcome to come to the studio with you for touch ups and small changes.
Help with Wardrobe and Looks:
If you need help, I offer a pre-shoot wardrobe consultation via zoom, facetime or in-studio.
Modeling Portfolio Shoots:
I can do a few 3/4 and full body shots during a headshot shoot, but modeling portfolio shots are booked separately.
Shoot Vibe, What to Expect:
I’m part clown, part coach, part director and part provocateur. Prepare to be empowered. Prepare to laugh. Prepare to work. Mostly, just prepare.
YOU ARE MY ONLY FOCUS:
For actors, this in not a factory. I will never have another client here on your shoot. I value being fully invested in each client’s shoot.
GUESTS:
For studio shoots, no extra guests please hair/makeup only, on one parent if under 18.
BTS:
No bts shooting, please.
IMAGE DELIVERY:
You will receive a password protected online gallery with cloud storage and digital download within 5 business days of your shoot, often sooner. Your gallery will contain UNRETOUCHED images. As these initial images are unretouched we suggest that you limit usage of unretouched shots and retouch your selects.
RELEASE OF RAW FILES:
Please note that Kenneth Dolin Photography does not release raw files. You do however get huge JPEG files and our retouchers will work with the original RAW files to get you the best images and best color corrections.
RETOUCHING:
If you don’t retouch, you are not getting a finished image. Retouching is vital. I don't allow my work to be retouched by anyone other than myself or my team. And again, do not release RAW or high res files unretouched.
ARCHIVING:
I archive your images. It is also archived in the cloud. And you should download and save your session.
